Medical Hypnosis FAQ
Will this course teach me everything that medical and dental students learn about medical hypnosis?
Most medical and dental students only received a few hours of instructions about hypnosis at best. This
generally takes the form of a brief overview of the applications of hypnosis but doesn't teach the practical
aspects. If they want to learn more about hypnosis, they must attend special elective courses that usually
last for one or two weekends. Longer courses are primarily offered at the graduate level through psychology
departments of universities.
this is the most comprehensive course on Medical Hypnosis available anywhere and provides a thorough understanding
of the science of Hypnotherapy. Furthermore, you can attend the course without the prerequisite of medical
or dental degree.
This course is desgined to meet the highest professional standards, embracing medical codes of conduct and
ethics. Included in the course are modules teaching the student communication skills and a practical awareness
of how to integrate their skills with other medical practitioners.

Am I allowed to learn medical hypnosis without a degree in medicine?
Yes! We do not believe in restricting access to knowledge. Any sincere person of good character, wanting
to help others, is welcome on this course.
Some organizations believe in limiting advanced knowledge about hypnosis to medical doctors, psychologists
and dentists. We believe such elitism is out-dated and serves no beneficial purpose. Our course prepares
the student to work within the field of medicine using hypnosis in conjunction with the client's healthcare
practitioner by utilising protocols that have been clinically researched and documented.
Am I allowed to give nutritional advice to clients without a licence, and, would this interfere with the
advice of doctors?
Doctors rarely give nutritional advice except in the cases of a few specific illnesses such as diabetes.
As a hypnotherapist and under the NOS performance criteria it is expected that your role is not prescriptive
but informative and educational and tailored to individual patient's needs. you should refer the patient
to another healthcare practitioner should the need arise. No one ever benefits from eating junk food, yet
most people have been programmed by advertisements to eat junk food, full of cancer causing additives and
pesticides. Hypnosis can de-program and re-educate these people. For each illness, there are certain natural
foods that are beneficial and certain foods that are harmful. Not bing aware of this is like trating patients
with a half-empty medical tool bag. Being able to impart this nutritional information will enable you to
provide a much more valuable and comprehensive service to patients.
Do I need to be a practicing hypnotherapist to take this course?
No, you don't need to be a hypnotherapist to take the course. However, in order to receive the Practitioner
Diploma in Medical Hypnosis you must know how to hypnotise patients and use the protocols and interventions
taught on the course. For those who are not already qualified hypnotherapits, an additional course will
be available through Austin Corporate. It is also possible to take the course as an observer if, for example,
someone wants knowledge of medical hypnosis but doesn't want to practice it themselves. The attendee would
receive a certificate of attendance rather than a Practitioner Diploma.
What hypnosis techniques will I learn on this course?
During the two year study period, you will learn a comprehensive range of inductions and interventions
including direct and indirect methods. These include: use of metaphors, the works of Milton Erickson, analytical
methods, regression, visual fixation, intermittent counting, combinations of techniques for different illnesses.
Understanding hypnotic phenomena such as anaesthesia, amnesia, catalepsy, positive and negative hallucinations
and when to use these techniques. There is a whole module teaching seven specific techniques for pain control
and methods to control blood circulation.
The protocols taught are too numerous to mention here but the above sample is just a brief selection of
what is included in the course.
Can I structure payments for this course?
Yes, there is a structured payment scheme but the first £500 must be paid in advance. There will
be limited places on the course so advanced booking is advisable.
Is there an exam at the end of this course?
